Shrimp-fishing season begins from today

MUSCAT: Shrimp-fishing season will begin today in the coastal areas of the Sultanate and continue until the end of November 2016.

The three-month season has economic importance for artisanal fishermen in Governorates of Al Wusta, South A’Sharqiyah and Dhofar. The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, represented by the Directorates General and Fisheries Administrations in these governorates have completed administrative and technical procedures and preparations, in addition to supervision measures for this season.
