Intex Oman opens tomorrow
MUSCAT: The iconic Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC) provides a splendid backdrop for the maiden edition of Intex Oman, a multi-category industrial trade fair that spotlights five distinct growth areas of the Sultanate’s increasingly diversifying non-oil economy.
Dr Rasheed bin Al Safi Al Huraibi, chairman of the Tender Board, will formally inaugurate this unique trade show in Hall No. 2 of the venue tomorrow, says a press release.
Organised by leading Omani events management firm Global Exhibition & Conferences (GEC), this three-day expo brings under one roof five standalone exhibitions: (i) Aquatex Oman - Water & Wastewater processing technologies, (ii) Renergex Oman - Renewable and sustainable energy, (iii) Eltex Oman - Electrical Equipment and technology, (iv) Pumps & Valves - Pumps, Valves, Pipes & Compressors, and (v) MTEX Oman - Manufacturing technology.
Their convergence on one platform promises to unlock crosssectoral synergies and business opportunities on a scale that will have hugely beneficial portends for the wider economy, while also accelerating the growth of non-oil sectors.
Exhibitor interest in this firstever five-in-one expo has been huge. More than 70 leading equipment manufacturers and service providers hailing from countries across Europe, Asia and the Middle East are taking part in Intex Oman. Together, they represent over 150 world-leading brands spanning all five segment categories being spotlighted in this singular trade expo.
Given the immense business opportunities that can be unleashed by a multi-category industrial fair of this scope and magnitude, various government ministries and trade bodies have extended their whole-hearted support for Intex Oman. Leading the line-up is the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, which has enthusiastically endorsed the trade show.
Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Riyada), the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), UK Trade and Invest (UKTI), Ad- vantage Austria and the German Industry & Commerce (AHK), among a host of trade associations from across the globe are also extending their support.
Corporate sponsorship support has been heartening as well. Intex Oman is backed by Siemens as lead sponsor, Oman Cable Industry as platinum sponsor; Voltamp, Hytec, Oman Pumps, Gulf Services & Industrial Supplies Co and Waleed Associates as gold sponsors; and Hayut, Future Plastics, and Addhia as silver sponsors.
Importantly, a companion forum has been organized in conjunction with the trade show. The Intex Oman Forum brings together experts and industry professionals for two days of deliberations focusing on key thrust areas, notably renewable energy development, and sustainable power and water solutions.
Taking place against the backdrop of the expo, the forum will seek to support capacity building, facilitate knowledge transfer, and ultimately drive sustainable development in the Sultanate. Visiting hours for Intex Oman are from 10am – 6pm.
