Global Money Exchange opens new branch in Ghala
MUSCAT: Global Money Exchange, a pioneer in offering remittance and currency exchange services, opened its 36th branch in the Sultanate at Ghala Sanayya recently.
C. R. Sasikumar, managing director of State Bank of Travancore inaugurated the branch in the presence of Santanu Mukherjee, managing director, State Bank of Hyderabad; P. K. Mishra, general manager (NRI Services), State Bank of India; Mumbai, K. S. Subromoniyan, managing director, Global Money Exchange and Madhusoodanan R., general manager, Global Money Exchange and others, says a press release.
With the opening of the new branch, which is third in Ghala, Global Money Exchange will further be able to cater to the remittance requirement of the blue-collar workers from Bangladesh and Pakistan besides India.
Meanwhile, the top executives of the State Bank group were on a visit to Oman mainly for meeting non-resident Indian (NRI) customers as part of a confidence building exercise in the wake of the proposed merger of Associate Banks of State Bank with the parent Bank viz State Bank of India.
An NRI customer meet was held at Hotel InterContinental where more than 250 customers participated. The customers raised questions on the outcome of the proposed merger, demonetisation issues etc., which were clarified by the SBI officials.
Global Money Exchange facilitates direct bank account credits to India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Ne- pal, Philippines and also to many other countries. The arrangement with various instant cash product operators – Western Union, MoneyGram, EzRemit, Transfast, Xpressmoney, Instant Cash etc. enables the customers to send their remittance conveniently.
“All facilities are provided in the branches. The company is planning to extend uninterrupted remittance facilities from 8.30am to 8.30pm to the customers should a requirement arises,” Subromoniyan and Madhusoodanan said.
