Qurum Natural Park

You just cannot have enough of Qurum Natural Park, the largest park in Oman covering an area of over 17,00,000 sq metres, in one visit. Located in the heart of Muscat, this park has a huge artificial lake, numerous old trees, manicured shrubs and green lawns, all of which provide the much need solace away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Marah Land amusement park is located adjacent to this park. Timings: 08:00am – 08:00pm; weekends – 08:00am – 12:00 midnight

Naseem Park

Located about 30km from the Muscat Internatio­nal Airport, this park was opened to herald the 15th National Day celebratio­ns (in 1985) and includes a children’s park, besides designated courts for tennis, volleyball and football. The park has small falaj flowing alongside besides a Japanese Garden created to celebrate the cordial relations between Oman and Japan. Timings: 04:00pm – 11:00pm; weekends – 04:00pm – 12:00 midnight

Al Sahwah Park

One of the new parks in Muscat, created less than a decade ago, this park has ample space for family recreation as well as for individual­s to spend time in solitude in the lap of nature. Students love to come here to spend hours of study in silence. The park includes family rest areas, six Islamic gardens of geometric shapes, a mosque and coffee shops. Timings: 06:00pm – 12:00 midnight; weekends – 09:00am – 12:00 midnight
