Gulf Cup in Doha from December 22

MUSCAT: The 23rd Gulf Cup Football Championship will take place in the Qatari capital of Doha from December 22, 2017 to January 5, 2018. The dates of the region’s premier football event were finalised during a meeting of the Special Committee on the Gulf Cup which met under the chairmanship of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Football Association, in Doha on Tuesday afternoon.

During the meeting, the members also decided to set a deadline for the Kuwait’s football governing body to form a special committee in order to get the approval to participate in the championship as they are under FIFA suspension. The committee has decided in favour of giving time for Kuwait so as to ensure the record 10-time winners participation in the regional championship.
