Modern Exchange to conduct seminar on 'Indian Budget'

MUSCAT: Modern Exchange Company (MEC), a leading player in the money exchange business in Oman, is organising a seminar ‘Indian Budget 2017-18’ at Al Falaj Hotel, Grand Hall, Ruwi on February 13 at 6.30pm.

Homi Phiroze Ranina, an eminent legal luminary and chartered accountant, will be the keynote speaker, says a press release.

A Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountant­s of India and a trained lawyer, Homi Phiroze Ranina is an advocate at Supreme Court of India. He has over 30 years’ experience and is known for his insight and rich expertise in matters related to taxation, finance and corporate management. Ranina has served as director of Reserve Bank of India.

He will discuss his experience and thoughts on the overall trends and implicatio­ns of the Union Budget 2017 that will impact India. Some of the highlights will focus on the budget aimed at creating a strong base for economic growth, setting up progressiv­e policies and fiscal discipline. Aligning various measures towards employment generation and an agenda for faster economic growth with special focus on areas demanding utmost attention viz, rural sector, agricultur­e, social security, health, education infrastruc­ture, financial sector and entreprene­urship.
