The two-day forum aims to enrich the scientific research in the medical field
MUSCAT: In an effort to improve clinical practices in the Sultanate, a research forum started at the Royal Hospital yesterday. The activities of the First Scientific Research Forum of the Royal Hospital kicked off under the auspices of Dr. Ali bin Talib Al Hinai, undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Planning Affairs in the presence of Dr. Qasim bin Ahmed Al Salmi, Director General of the Royal Hospital and a number of officials, the medical and administrative cadre at the Royal Hospital.
The aim of the two day-forum is to enrich the scientific research in the medical field in the Sultanate and to create and further cement the clinical practices and guidelines, said Dr. Qasim bin Ahmed Al Salmi, Director General of the Royal Hospital.
The forum would see the review of 40 research papers prepared by the medical cadre of the Royal Hospital, he added. Conducting research at the Royal; Hospital is of vital importance and will ensure provision of quality services, he added. Dr. Isa bin Salim Al Salmi, Chairman of the Research Centre at the Royal Hospital gave a speech in which he spoke on education march in the Sultanate since the dawn of the Blessed Renaissance, the establishment of the Oman Medical Speciality Board and the Research Centre in the Sultanate among other issues.
Diverse fields covered
The research papers would cover all medical fields including renal disease, heart disease, blood vessels, hereditary diseases and genetics, diabetes, radiology radiography, nutrition among other fields.
The forum would conclude, today, with a number of lectures delivered by participants from within and outside the Sultanate.
On the conclusion of the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Ali bin Talib Al Hinai, undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Planning Affairs honoured the medical cadre and participants delivering the research papers.
He also toured the various sections of the exhibition accompanying the forum.
