Alfardan Motors sponsors Oman’s first Bike Festival
MUSCAT: With the intent to support bike enthusiasts, Alfardan Motors, Motorcycle division sponsored Oman’s first Bike Festival recently organised by Oman Automobile Association.
The Bike Festival, which was held on February 10 and 11, celebrated biking as a sport and as a lifestyle. The festival was organised as part of the Muscat Festival 2017 to promote the Sultanate as a distinctive tourist destination and help foster a link between bikers in the region, says a press release.
The Bike Festival, which was themed ‘ We Celebrate Oman’, witnessed participation of 300 bikers from Oman.
On the first day of the festival, participating bikers rode in a parade from Oman Automobile Association to the Muscat Festival venue at Al Amerat. After witnessing the Muscat Festival festivities, they rode back to the Muscat Arena at the Oman Automobile Association to participate in a drift event.
The second day of the festival hosted a bike show after which winners were announced at an awards event. Bike enthusiasts, families, leisure riders, sport riders, commute riders and automotive lovers participated in the festival.
Mohamed El Zawawy, assistant general manager of Alfardan Motors said, “We were delighted to sponsor the inaugural festival which was hugely successful. We enthusiastically welcomed the concept of the bike festival which aimed to promote Oman as a unique tourism destination.”
He also added, “Motorcycles are special for Alfardan Motors. Our motorcycle division showcases some of the world’s wellknown motorcycles as well as an assortment of riding gears and branded merchandise.
"Our motorcycle division offers riders and aficionados an impressive range of globally-respected motorcycles, ATVs and scooters. At the festival, we saw some of the bike enthusiasts ride exquisite motorcycles brought from our Brands. It was a proud moment for us.”
Alfardan Motors which expanded its portfolio to the twowheeler segment in 2014 houses motorcycles from Triumph, KTM and Aprilia, Piaggio and Vespa, as well as rugged ATVs from SAND-X, Arctic Cat.
