MUSCAT: The 15th annual day celebration of Indian School Al Seeb (ISAS), ‘Childhood Diaries’ was held recently on the school premises with a lot of exuberance. The programme had Sheikh Salim Abdullah Al Rawas, chairman Kunooz, Oman Holding as the chief guest. Guest of Honour, Dr C. K. Anchan, chairman Academics, BoD and DIC Indian School Al Seeb, president, Ravi Jayanthy, other SMC members and parents were also present during the event, says a press release.

Audience stirred up with patriotism when the school choir sang the Royal Anthem of Oman followed by the National Anthem of India, at the arrival of the chief guest. The inaugural ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the guests. Gopika Gokul, the Girls’ Dean of the school avidly presented the welcome address.

The cultural extravaganza began with 175 children of KG 1 and KG 2 staging a dance drama on fairy tales. The graceful movements, flawless dialogue delivery, colourful and eye-catching costumes and smiling faces and dancing to the tune of lilting music made it an enchanting experience for the parents and wellwishers, who had come in large numbers to witness the show.

The annual report of the school was presented by, Shiney Roy and T. Chandravati Vishnu, the viceprincipals of ISAS, highlighting the prominent achievements of the school during this academic year in scholastic and co-scholastic areas.

The power point presentation reflecting the achievements of the school and the students was a sheer treat for the eyes of the parents and guests.

The SMC President, Ravi Jayanthy lauded the staunch support of the parents, SMC members and the staff for the school to function smoothly.

He thanked the parents for their cooperation in making the school monitored transport, a huge success. He informed the audience about the future progressive ventures of the SMC which were in the pipe line.

The annual prize distribution of ISAS reflected the dedication and perseverance of all the meritorious students as well as staff who were felicitated on the same day. The chief guest in his speech expressed his elation at being invited to the programme. He congratulated the school on the excellent results in the Board Examination and felt very happy after getting acquainted with the whole year’s achievements of the students in the academics and co-curricular activities.

In his speech he expounded the thought that the attainment of academic excellence is a student’s motto. He propagated that knowing others is intelligence but knowing one’s own self is true wisdom and self-quest should be the actual motto of a student.

The school choir of ISAS took the audience to the world of ecstasy. The most riveting theme dance exuded opulence, tranquility and grandeur of childhood memories.

The programme rose to a crescendo with an ensemble of the live musical performance of singing and dancing which conveyed the hue, extravagance and splendour of the different dance forms with constantly changing rhythm.

Senior students gave a laudable performance on the classic tale of William Shakespeare ‘Merchant of Venice. The excerpt posed a vital question about the perennial relationship between Justice and Mercy. The whole programme was conducted by student comperes – Nabeel Ahsan, Raminder Kaur and Joshny Mathew.
