Defence minister takes part in Dubai expo

ABU DHABI: Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs took part yesterday in the opening ceremony of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2017) on an invitation from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Defence.

Military delegation

Sayyid Al Busaidi was accompanied by a military delegation comprised Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis Al Ra’eesi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) and a number of senior officers from the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF).

Pavilions

The Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs and his accompanying military delegation visited pavilions of a number of international companies and the participating countries in the exhibition, during which they viewed the latest military equipment and systems manufactured by the defence industries companies from the various world’s countries. Sayyid Al Busaidi and his accompanying delegation returned home this evening.

International event

The International Defence Exhibition and Conference, 2017 is being organised in the UAE Capital, Abu Dhabi from February 19 until February 23.
