Al Habsi duo shine in Ras Al Khaimah
MUSCAT: Young Omani racing stars Mohammed Al Habsi and Shihab Al Habsi achieved podium places in the fourth round of 2016-17 X30 Challenge series at RAK Track in Ras Al Khaimah during the last weekend.
While Mohammed took second place in the Cadet category, Shihab settled for third place in the Junior section.
In the final of Cadet Class, Mohammed Al Habsi completed the 11-lap race in a time of 12:21.482. However, he had to satisfy himself with the second place as he finished 2.494 seconds behind eventual winner Rashid Al Dhaheri, who clocked 21:18.988.
Ahmed Al Saadi took third place in a time of 12:22.405.
In the Junior Class final, a 13lap race, Shihab Al Habsi clocked 13:13.922 for his third place.
The race was won by Lachlan Robinson in a time of 13:12.223 while Ali Akabi finished second in 13:13.492.
