CMYF to organise ‘Mega Mix Musical and Award Night’ on March 2
MUSCAT: The Chiru Mega Youth Force (CMYF) Muscat, a Telugu social group and non-profit organisation involved in conducting humanitarian activities in Oman for more than a decade, is planning a major entertainment cum award show, which will also provide them with a platform to honour and felicitate those who have helped them in their many charitable efforts in Oman.
Titled ‘Muscat Mega Mix Musical cum Award Night’, the CMYF will be hosting the show under the license of Muscat Unique Diamond Entertainment on March 2 evening at Le Grande Hall of Al Falaj Hotel, says a press release.
“To mark our nearly a decade and a half existence in Oman as a full-fledged social and charitable unit, we, the CMYF, have decided to have this entertainment and charity awareness building event. It will be a three-hour long multicultural entertainment show and award night that will bring forth an evening of fun and joy and also help us honour some of the many humanitarians who have assisted us in our charitable efforts here,” said Chandaka Ramdas, who heads the CMYF in Oman. “Whatever we have done so far, and whatever we plan to do in the future, will be with a focus on charity and raising awareness about it,” he reminded.
Chief guest
The attraction of the event will be the presence and participation of popular and sought-after celebrities from the Telugu film and tel- evision world. The show will also be telecast post event in a popular Telugu television channel in India, Ramdas informed.
“The highlight of the March 2 event, which is set to bring in joy and excitement to an entertainment-starved Telugu speaking audience here, will be the current, young movie idol, Sai Dharam Tej. Dharam is the nephew of the Telugu living movie star legend, Chi- ranjeevi. He will be the chief guest at the event,” Ramdas said.
Champions of charity to be felicitated
Around 25 to 27 frequent blood donors will be awarded on stage at the function. Also, two to four key champions of charity in Oman as well as from India will be felicitated, Ramdas informed. “Currently, we are planning to felicitate two people from Oman who have done wonders for charity here, as well as two others from India,” Ramdas said. “The blood donors being felicitated are those who have donated blood as part of our blood donation drives, more than 15 times,” he said.
By awarding these dedicated donors, the CMYF was not only encouraging them, but also driving home the message of the importance in donating “liquid love”.
He and the CMYF members were drawing on the sheer inspiration from their hero, Konidela Siva Sankara Vara Prasad, better known as Chiranjeevi, film actor, dancer, producer, singer, politician, and more importantly, a man, whom the CMYF adores for his charitable and humanitarian work and his drive to bring social justice to the people of Andhra Pradesh in particular and to the people of India in general.
“We are driven by our megastar hero’s sense of purpose to bring about social justice to the masses and we will be there behind any of his ventures, filmy, political, or charitable,” Ramdas vowed.
