International Women’s Day celebrations held at Starcare Hospital
MUSCAT: Starcare Hospital celebrated International Women’s Day with a Women’s Fest, acknowledging the achievements of women from different walks of life.
Starcare as a corporate encourages the upliftment and empowerment of women. As part of ‘Be bold for a change’ campaign, Shinoona Salah Al Habsi who represented Oman in the 2012 Summer Olympics was honoured. As an employer with more than 65% women workforce, Starcare ensures equality of employment; safety and women friendly initiatives like ‘Be bold for a change’ to bolster the development of female workforce. The human chain as part of the ‘Be bold for a change’ campaign was embraced with much enthusiasm and participation from corporates, public, staff and well wishers, says a press release.
Dr Sadik Kodakkat, chairman of the group, explained that the initiative is two pronged. One is to give awareness to the community, the myriad health problems that the women folk may have to fight with in her course of life, and the other is to urge them to come out and speak boldly for themselves.
