BankDhofar participates in SQU career fair
MUSCAT: As part of its constant initiatives to identify and maximise the potential of talented Omani youth, BankDhofar participated in a career fair held at the Sultan Qaboos University recently.
The event gave students access to substantial professional guidance from the bank’s participating staff and facilitated direct interaction with banking specialists from BankDhofar to gain insight into the sector’s available career choices, says a press release.
This event aims to provide jobs and training opportunities for SQU students and graduates and enhance their abilities, develop their skills, and prepare them for the labour market.
The fair also helps the participating institutions to accelerate their Omanisation plans through establishing direct contact with more than 3,000 graduates with a variety of educational backgrounds. As the Sultan Qaboos University is one of the largest government educational institutions with thousands of students in Business Studies, Engineering Studies and Information Technology, the university benefits greatly from the exposure that such events give these students.
Students were educated on BankDhofar’s recruitment requirements and were able to interact directly with the bank’s human resources team. The career fair was also a platform for the bank to introduce its corporate culture to students and discuss the kind of work environment and experiences the bank offers.
This career and training opportunities fair comes with the collaboration of different institutions from the public and private sectors, and it aims to spread awareness on the local job market in all industries, showcasing the opportunities and challenges that would encounter young graduates and job seekers. BankDhofar’s booth attracted a large crowd of students and job seekers as the bank’s representatives provided them with insights on the job market, trends and challenges, as well as required skills and knowledge for different jobs and career development.
