-

MUSCAT: The Zubair Corporation (Z-Corp) successfully completed the second out of eight modules of the Executive Leadership Development Programme (ELDP). A special event was held to mark the occasion and it was attended by Zayad Al Zubair Board member, Zubair Corp senior management team, ShiftIN Partners and ELDP participants.

Designed to help employees with workforce succession planning, ELDP is an initiative aimed at developing the high caliber employees of Z-Corp as part of the group’s talent management programme initiative SEED. Through this programme which is only common among the best corporations in the world, Z-Corp has set a new standard for corporate leadership development in the Sultanate.

The ELDP is a holistic, rotational three years programme designed to equip participants with hands-on experience in different key roles across Z-Corp. The ELDP consists of several modules, covering a broad aspect of leadership subjects including, strategy, innovation, leadership, risk management and corporate social responsibility.

The special event started with a lecture by Professor Graham Moore, the only certified master facilitator in the Middle East of the famous international leadership development programme ‘The Leadership Challenge’.

Speaking on the occasion Moore, who is the only global certified master of leadership challenge in the Middle East and has presented The Leadership Challenge across 18 countries worldwide said, “I am very happy to see the commitment if the Z-Corp to develop future leaders in Oman.”

After the lecture by Moore, the participants signed off their personal development plans (PDPs) together with their corresponding sector heads.

At the end of the session, they received a certificate signed by the authors of The Leadership Challenge, Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner along with the certified master Graham Moore.

ELDP is an initiative designed in-house by the Z-Corp team and delivered in partnership with ShiftIN Partners; an internationally recognised consulting and training firm specialised in strategy execution and innovation, with strong focus on capability building.

ELDP was held particularly in line with government strategy and intention to promote Omanis to high management position in private sector organisations. The main aim of the programme was to elevate the capability of existing resources and prepare them for future leadership position.

Employees of Z-Corp who participated in the first phase of ELDP submitted their final project on the subject “translating strategies into reality” in December last year.

The Zubair Corporation is committed to playing an essential role in Oman’s continued march towards further development, progress and prosperity. Preparing an organisation and its key personnel to drive through these challenges is a major step to ensure the success of business sustenance. The strategic vision of the Z-Corp has encouraged it to launch ELDP to become futureready and help bring up the next line of senior management team.
