1,200 artisans joined hands for giving shape to Anantara resort

MUSCAT: More than 1,200 highly skilled artisans helped to shape Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar resort, which is situated 2,400 metres above sea level and is the Middle East’s highest hotel.

A spokespers­on of the resort said: ‘ S&T Interiors and Contractin­g, along with its JV partner ALEC delivered turnkey constructi­on and high-end joinery and gypsum works for Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar.

“S&T Interiors and Contractin­g has been a key partner to the project with a joint venture with UAE-headquarte­red Al Jaber Engineerin­g & Contractin­g (ALEC), to deliver turnkey constructi­on and high-end joinery and gypsum works for the resort. The scope of work covered all areas including the presidenti­al suite, villas, lounge, library, main building, restaurant­s, pool, pool terrace and back offices.

“This luxurious resort has 33 swimming pools, 22 gated villas with swimming pools, and spe- cialty Italian, Persian and Omani restaurant­s.

To manage the project over 1,200 artisans and helpers were deployed.

“The project had its share of challenges, including managing logistics for materials, trans- portation, negotiatin­g the terrain, working in the cold and dry weather, the scarcity of potable water and altitude sickness. To overcome the logistics challenges we used 6x4 vehicles to transport materials safely and on time,” a spokespers­on said.
