Bank Muscat hosts SAS participants to support ICT start-ups
MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in line with its ‘Let’s Do More’ vision and commitment to partnership in supporting Omani youth and promoting entrepreneurial initiatives, hosted a session with participants of the Information Technology Authority’s SAS Programme. SAS is an incubation centre promoting SME start-ups in the field of Information Communication Technology (ICT).
The Tawasul (engagement) session by the bank’s Corporate Communications department hosted young Omanis promoting start-ups in the field of Information Communication Technology (ICT), including branding, graphic design and mobile applications. The objective of the session was to provide the participants insights into marketing and advertising strategies to promote their products and services.
The bank’s experience in dealing with media and marketing companies and advertising agencies was highlighted, especially how a marketing project is initiated and the related processes, including timelines and deliverables. The initiative stemmed from the bank’s commitment to complement government efforts in strengthening the role of SMEs, particularly the knowledge-based sector, in the economic development of Oman.
The Information Technology Authority’s SAS Programme aims to set up a national technology business entrepreneurship for the Sultanate in coordination and collaboration with government and non-government stakeholders to encourage entrepreneurship and the development of IT and IT related small and medium businesses.
The enterprising youth who participated in the session exuded determination to follow their business dreams in the field of information communication technology (ICT), which offers bright prospects in light of the country moving towards a digital society. Aimed at strengthening the SME sector, Bank Muscat remains committed to creating self-employment opportunities for citizens, especially youth, across the Sultanate.
