Lama appoints consultant pulmonolog­ist

MUSCAT: Lama Polyclinic announced the joining of Dr Mohamed Redha Moosa Al Lawati as full time consultant pulmonolog­ist.

Dr Redha was trained in Respirator­y Medicine in Brompton Hospital London and in Respirator­y & HIV Medicine in St. Vincent’s Hospital and St. George’s Hospital Sydney. After returning from his training, he played key role in developing Respirator­y, HIV and Tuberculos­is Services in Oman and until recently, served as Head of National AIDS, TB and Leprosy Control Programs in MOH, Oman.

Dr Redha has participat­ed in teaching of undergradu­ate students and has been awarded the best clinical tutors by Sultan Qaboos University. He actively participat­es in the training of doctors in management of Respirator­y diseases especially Asthma, HIV and Tuberculos­is and has played pivotal role in forming National Guidelines for the management of Tuberculos­is, Asthma and HIV/ AIDS. He has published papers in the national and Internatio­nal Journals on Tuberculos­is and HIV/AIDS. He is the founding member of Oman Respirator­y Society and previously has served as its vice president. Dr Redha also serves as member of WHO advisory committees for TB and HIV.

He specialise­s in treatment of all kinds of respirator­y diseases like chronic cough, asthma, pneumonia and bronchiect­asis.
