Students explore future study options at expo

Al Ahlam UK Education Expo proved to be a high potential event to promote UK higher education institutions and allow students direct access to advice and information

MUSCAT: Al Ahlam UK Education Expo stood up to its reputation and delivered another successful show, welcoming over 2,000 visitors in both locations. As well as Muscat, the 2017 edition saw the inclusion of a new location, Sohar, where the expo took place for two days.

It proved to be a high potential location to promote UK higher education institutions and allow students direct access to advice and information, says a press release.

The participating institutions praised the organisers for consistently delivering successful shows year after year. University representatives commended how participation in the Al Ahlam UK Education Expo had helped them increase their intake of students. In addition, each year the universities get the opportunity to explore a new regional market in Oman and reach out to potential students beyond Muscat, which gives a significant advantage and value to attendance at the expo.

Kate Clarke, managing director at Al Ahlam Higher Education Services commented, “Our company is in its 15th year of operation and we have come a long way. We are an established name in Oman when it comes to student counselling on study in the UK. This expo is very important to us therefore we make sure it is always well planned and works to the advantage of the participating institutions. The timings and the venue attracted a good number of quality potential students who were keen on pursuing their higher education in UK. Our counselling desk guided students and addressed their queries about study before they interacted with the exhibitors, so that visitors were focused and time was efficiently managed. This made for a satisfying visitor experience, and the exhibitors could concentrate on serious enquiries which made it a more productive event for them.”

There were 23 education institutions exhibiting - 16 universities, 4 Pathways and 3 language schools. All the institutions benefited well from their participation and mentioned their intention to return for future editions of the expo.
