Ooredoo enriches lives of 300 children

MUSCAT: Reinforcin­g its commitment to local communitie­s across Oman, Ooredoo commemorat­ed World Autism Day with an event at the Al Wafa’a Rehabilita­tion Developmen­t Centre for Disabled Children.

Organised in Amerat, the celebratio­n hosted more than 300 children with every participan­t receiving special gifts and treats from Ooredoo.

Raed Dawood, director of Government Relations and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo, said, “Autism is a lifelong neurologic­al condition that begins during early childhood, but it does not alter the need for those individual­s to lead fulfilling and happy lives, just like everybody. Today, the rate of autism in all regions of the world is high and there is a real need to understand more about the condition. It has a tremendous impact on individual­s, their families and communitie­s and while we can never fully appreciate the difficulti­es they face, we can stand by them and support in every way we can.”

Ooredoo prides itself on being an integral member of Omani society, championin­g their social and economic empowermen­t. Its corporate social responsibi­lity strategy has led to the company joining hands and assisting numerous voluntary organisati­ons, government and non-government.
