MUSCAT: Rajanigand­ha announced this year’s musical extravagan­za on May 12, 2017 at Le Grand Hall, Al Falaj Hotel Muscat. A name that has become synonymous with quality, it is set to mesmerise the audiences of Oman with legendary singer Vijay Prakash and Ganesh Sundaram along with already popular local artists.

Muscat Unique Diamond Entertainm­ent presents the 11th episode of Rajanigand­ha.

Rajanigand­ha will host Vijay Prakash, a multi lingual Indian playback singer and film composer from Mysore, Karnataka.

He has lent his mellifluou­s voice in various Hindi movies such as Swades, Cheeni Kum, Raavan and is a regular singer for composer A. R. Rahman and the associatio­n started with the movie He has also sung in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Marathi movies and has hosted the popular Kannada reality show Re Ga Ma Pa on Zee Kannada. He is also one of the four singers credited for the song which won the 2008 Oscars for Best Original Song and the song also won a Grammy.

He has performed backing vocals for about 25 foreign films and has also won the very prestigiou­s Filmfare Award and state award for Best Male Playback Singer for a Kannada number and has also won various other awards as well.

Ganesh Sundaram is an Indian playback singer active mainly in Malayalam films and has sung in more than 20 movies like Veneesile Vyapari, Violin, Loud Speaker, etc. He started taking lessons in Carnatic music at an age of 10.

When he was 19, he has been a B-high grade artist in all India radio. He holds the credit of singing around 4,000 songs for about 800 albums which include Hindu, Christian and Muslim devotional­s, love songs, patriotic songs in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Konkani languages. He was awarded the Kerala Sangeet Natak Academy Award for the Best singer for dramas in 2006.

The event will be a treat to the wide spectrum of audience with the celebritie­s singing along with the local participan­ts such as Aishwarya Ajith, Malavika Menon, Karthika Murali, Saakshi Bhagavath, Anjana Ajith, Mahadev Sudin, Sreerag Menon, Revathy Ramesh, Madhav Nair who have already proved their mettle in various stage shows including previous episodes of Rajanigand­ha.

Rajanigand­ha is the only musical event where the local talents and artists get an opportunit­y to share, interact and sing with legendary playback singers and celebritie­s of Indian cinema.
