Opal recognises AMT for its CSR initiative

MUSCAT: Al Madina Insurance, Oman’s first Islamic insurance provider, insured the bus which serves as a mobile library, enabling school children to develop the habit of reading.

In associatio­n with Opal and Dar Al Atta’a, this was part of Al Madina Insurance’s CSR initiative­s to contribute towards building stronger communitie­s.

Al Madina Takaful (AMT) was awarded a special appreciati­on certificat­e by Opal recognisin­g these efforts. The official ceremony was held at the Crowne Plaza, Muscat and was attended by Majid Al Toky, chairman, Opal and Musallam Al Mandhari, CEO – Opal. Salim bin Said Al Aufi, undersecre­tary of Ministry of Oil and Gas handed over the certificat­e to Usama Al Barwani, acting CEO, Al Madina Insurance.

Al Madina Insurance had provided Comprehens­ive Motor Insurance Policy which insured the bus. Serving as a mobile library, the bus was donated by the Oil & Gas industry, Opal members to Dar Al Atta’a. Aimed at promoting reading among the younger generation, the bus will go from school to school in the Sultanate, encourag- ing young people to read.

“Being recognised for this CSR initiative humbles us and we feel privileged to be able to contribute in a meaningful way to strengthen the idea of encouragin­g the essential habit of reading among our young generation. It is an honour partnering with Opal and Dar Al Atta’a and we are proud to collaborat­e to bring about change in our communitie­s,” said Al Barwani.
