Startup Grind hosts former owner of Talabat.com
MUSCAT: Startup Oman, the Sultanate’s only online platform created by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs and the designated chapter of Startup Grind in Oman, hosted Startup Grind recently.
Featured on Startup Grind’s stage was Abdulaziz Al Loughani, former managing partner of Talabat.com, which is a pioneer of the online food ordering industry in the Middle East. Housing a wide variety of cuisines from international and local restaurants, Talabat is the go-to destination for food.
Abdulaziz now works as the vice-chairman of the Kuwait National Fund for SMEs Development, a $7b independent public institution responsible for developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Kuwait.
Over 70 entrepreneurs, students, and young professionals joined the event at Innovation Factory space in Knowledge Oasis to hear Al Loughani’s story to entrepreneurship. During the event, Abdul Aziz shared his experience in establishing a business, saying: The most important aspects of starting a successful company are three things: Finding the right team fit, simplifying your solution for a customer’s pain point, as well as a significant and scalable market size.”
“We are thrilled to feature an experienced tech entrepreneur such as Abdulaziz on the Startup Grind stage,” said Startup Oman Co-founder Ali Daud. “His experience showcases how to succeed in developing tech solutions for everyday problems, and how to expand an app into a regional product. We hope that Abdulaziz’s story will inspire Omani entrepreneurs develop apps that solve the problems they face.”
