SBG opens automated multi-level carpark

-

MUSCAT: Suhail Bahwan Group (SBG), one of the largest private corporate enterprises in Oman with diversified businesses, has just completed an automated multi-level carpark in the Commercial Business District (CBD) in Ruwi, Muscat.

The car park, with the first-of -its-kind automated parking system in Oman, is built on 897 sqm plot of land with a parking capacity of 165 slots at seven levels. The design of the parking block conforms to civil defence requirements and municipality regulations. The multi-level carpark will primarily accommodate tenants of the group’s newly and fully renovated commercial building Al Shumoor at CBD area located adjacent to the car park.

Ashok K. Saproo, head of SBG’s Projects and Design division that designed and executed the parking project said, “The multi-level car park is another pioneering project from Suhail Bahwan Group well known for introducing new concepts and technologies to the betterment of the society and economy.”

He added, “In a bustling capital city like Muscat, parking spaces are extremely limited especially in busy and premium commercial districts such as Ruwi. Besides, cars are most often parked in the open, exposed to sun and heat. In such locations, enclosed multilevel car park is the best solution as it can accommodate maximum cars in shaded slots and there is no need for a lengthy driveway and huge land space.”
