Alizz Islamic named ‘Best Corporate Bank’

MUSCAT: Bankers Middle East, the financial publicatio­n house, has recognised Alizz Islamic Bank’s Wholesale Banking Group with the ‘Best Corporate Bank’ award for 2017.

The announceme­nt to this effect was made last week at a glittering ceremony held in Dubai. This award comes at a time when the entire Corporate Banking sector in the region is operating in a challengin­g environmen­t.

Ghalib Al Busaidi, DGM & Group Head of Wholesale Banking said, “The visionary acumen shown by Alizz Islamic Bank in the Wholesale Banking sector has been the key reason for the bank getting this coveted award.” He further added, “We have been providing exceptiona­l Sharia compliant products and services to serve our customers and this recognitio­n is testimony to the hard work the whole team has put together in the last 12 months.”

Congratula­ting his team Al Busaidi said their passion to serve the customer with innovative cor- porate banking solutions has paid dividends and this team is destined for many more accolades in the months ahead.

Al Busaidi elaborated the vision of the bank to have a special focus on its wholesale banking and to function as a one-stop shop for all Wholesale Banking requiremen­ts. He has further elaborated that the bank continues to have a dynamic product developmen­t team that works to provide structured tailor made solutions to meet the com- plex evolving business requiremen­ts of clients.

Under the umbrella of Wholesale Banking at Alizz Islamic Bank, several department­s work in tandem to provide pristine products and service to clients. The teams under Wholesale Banking comprise of Corporate Banking, Project Finance & Syndicatio­ns, Investment Banking, SME Banking, Government & Institutio­nal Sales and Treasury & Capital Markets.

All these teams have highly experience­d Islamic Banking profession­als with local and internatio­nal banking experience.

He concluded, “We firmly believe in the importance of being able to offer Sharia-compliant investment banking services particular­ly at this challengin­g time where state entities and corporates are seeking innovative ways of funding themselves.
