Council discusses civil service issues
The Civil Service Council also discussed requests of government organisations about regularising the employment conditions
MUSCAT: Issues related to appointment applications and contracts for some technical jobs were among those on the agenda of the Civil Service Council meeting held yesterday.
This was the second meeting of the Council for the year under the chairmanship of Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, and Chairman of the Civil Service Council.
The meeting reviewed the follow-up report on what has been done to implement the decisions and recommendations of its first meeting in 2017.

It also reviewed the items on the agenda and also discussed requests of a number of government organisations about regularising the employment conditions for some of their employees to be compatible with the organisations they work for and with their roles and responsibilities as shown in the Civil Service Law and its executive regulation.
It also discussed a number of issues related to appointment applications and contracts for some technical jobs in light of the Council’s powers in this regard.
The council discussed the reasons of such requests in terms of their importance to the functioning of the concerned authorities and the exercise of its terms of reference assigned to it, particularly in the area of the completion of the technical aspects associated with its work and the implementation of their own projects.
The Council reviewed the report on the training plans for 2017 for the ministries and public organisations that implement the Civil Service Law.
