Sayyid Fahd takes part in Arab-Islamic-US Summit

RIYADH: On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers took part with the Arab-Islamic-U.S Summit, which concluded at King Abdul Aziz Internatio­nal Conference Centre in Riyadh on Sunday.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia delivered a speech at the beginning of the Summit in which he welcomed the U.S president Donald Trump. He affirmed the common ties between the Arab and Islamic countries in combatting terrorism and extremism, and in achieving the world security, stability and peace.

“We share feelings with the U.S President in ensuring constructi­ve cooperatio­n to discard terrorism and fighting all sorts and forms of terrorism, as well as drying its sources, stopping all means for its finance and standing firmly in combatting this dangerous phenomenon on humanity at large,” said King Salman.

On his part, the U.S President Donald Trump said that the U.S.A’s aim is to establish an alliance at which countries would join hands to eliminate terrorism and ensure promising future for generation­s.

“The war on terrorism is not a war among religions but rather a battle between good and evil, he added. War on terrorism was not a war between religions but rather “a war between good and evil” , he said pointing out that more than 95% of the terrorism victims are Muslims and that his country aims at establishi­ng an alliance at which states join hands to achieve one common aim; eliminatin­g extremism and terrorism.
