Thoughtfully redesigned new Mazda CX9 delivers extra safety, miles, space

MUSCAT: The all-new Mazda CX-9 has been thoughtfully redesigned by the Japanese automaker in its endeavour to redefine the broader automobile experience through transformative new-generation touches in each of its model. The all-new Mazda CX-9 offers much more space, comfort, safety, miles and punch, all thanks to its turbocharged SkyActiv engine and IActivSense features.

A seven-seater crossover SUV with three rows, the CX-9 is a fun drive with a sporty edge that is all confidence on the road. It comes in 2WD Comfort variant and AWD offered in a Prestige and Luxury variant. Its new 2.5-litre, turbocharged SkyActiv engine produces 230 PS @ 5,000 rpm and 420 Nm of torque @2,000 rpm that gives the extra punch. That makes the CX-9 dash from 0-100km/h in 8.2 seconds. Its SkyActiv gasoline engine delivers much greater fuel efficiency and mileage.

The SkyActiv-G 2.5L offers many Mazda and industryfirsts, including its innovative Dynamic Pressure Turbo which uses a butterfly valve in the engine’s exhaust to create more pressure through a smaller chamber—like holding your thumb over the end of a garden hose—at low RPM. Thus, its turbocharger can spool up almost instantaneously providing up to 310 lb-ft of torque for ample flexibility and performance in any situation. It is also the first-time Mazda has turbocharged a gasoline SkyActiv engine and this makes the CX-9 a truly exceptional car.”
