Nakshtra organises cultural programme
MUSCAT: Nakshtra, a non-profit children’s organisation, organised its 6th cultural show recently.
The venue saw a large gathering of spectators as a cast of 45 children enthralled the audience through a medley of dance, drama, and recitation.
The show, which was attended by Bengali culture enthusiasts, was sectioned in two parts, featured works by Sukumar Ray and Rabindranath Tagore.
The first half, presented the humorous works of Sukumar Ray through poetry recitation, dance and drama, all performed by a group of 32 children.
The evening concluded with the dance drama by Rabindranath Tagore performed by 13 dancers. The children were each presented mementos to commemorate their participation. The performance of the chil- dren and the endeavour to organise such a programme were highly appreciated by the audience.
The entire event was organised through the efforts and contributions of the parents of the cast, the organisers and other members of the community interested to encourage the Bengali expat community to learn more about the vast ocean of Bangla culture and literature. This show also caused to instil within every child the pride of being a Bengali by letting them experience the richness of their own culture and heritage for themselves. Nakshatra will continue to organise more events in the future and invites more participants to join for their next show.
