Yogatherap­y4all marks Internatio­nal Yoga Day

MUSCAT: Yogatherap­y4all group initiated by Prema Nagesh (yoga therapist) who has been promoting the practice of yoga for health and happiness in Oman for 20 years celebrated Internatio­nal Yoga Day under the auspices of Embassy of India recently in Bank Muscat head office in Seeb.

The programme was attended by His Highness Sayyid Faher bin Al Said as the chief guest, Indra Mani Pandey, Ambassador of India to Oman, Dr Wahid Ali Al Kharusi, president of Oman Cancer Associatio­n along with various other dignitarie­s. Nearly 250 enthusiast­s spread across various nationalit­ies, including many Omani nationals were exposed to the nuances of yoga.

Pandey and Wahid spoke about the importance of yoga in daily life. The event including live demonstrat­ions and practice session attracted great response, as the participan­ts understood how yoga can lead to good health and harmony in life. All of them participat­ed in the practical demonstrat­ion on how to keep the physical body healthy and as therapy too.

Thanking everyone for being a part of an exciting evening, Prema commented, “Yoga is not just on the mat but yoga is everywhere and in every activity. Yoga involves body and mind and the union of it along with right breathing. This leads to calmness and happiness. Good health means healthy body and mind too.”
