Awasr’s ‘Feel the Speed’ reinvents internet speed

MUSCAT: Awasr, Oman’s first specialise­d broadband internet service provider, is riding a crest of success following the launch of its ‘Feel the Speed’ campaign.

The campaign, which went underway with the opening of preorder facility for new coverage areas in Azaiba, Ghubra, Madinat Alam, Al Qurum, Wadi Adai, Hamriya, Wadi Kabir, Hilat Al Sadd and Darsait, has set a new paradigm of speed with its innovative technology. It has whizzed, literally, through the melange of usual functional delays and slow connection­s to set new parameters of speed for Internet users in the country.

Awasr aggressive­ly pursued the tenets of ‘Feel the Speed’ campaign, paved a revolution­ary path for consumers to experience, and enjoy speed like never before. The impressive growth shows the success of the campaign, which can be best described as an exercise in reinventin­g speed. For consumers, who have had limited access to the speed of internet, this campaign, complement­ed with offers for speed upgrading and free subscripti­on, will give them the chance to enjoy the internet.

Highlighti­ng the virtues of the campaign, Issam Al Ismaily, head of Commercial, stated, “Feel the Speed’ has been a unique campaign in every sense of the word. It brought newer destinatio­ns within the purview of Awasr in an inspiring new way and gave users a sense of unique with value additions in the guise of upgrading options. The campaign received significan­t attention from all sections of the society. We received countless enquiries from both potential and new customers who wanted to savour the unique interpreta­tion of speed on the Internet canvas.”

The campaign’s success is in no small measure to the host of channels it employed to create awareness in the market.

The campaign was run parallel with a free subscripti­on and upgrade offer for a month. Customers could avail one month free subscripti­on and also enjoy a month-long free speed upgrade on three different packages: 20Mbps to 50Mbps; 50Mbps to 150Mbps; and 150Mbps to 300Mbps for the first month.
