37 Sharia compliant companies

MUSCAT: Muscat Securities Market (MSM) announced 37 Sharia compliant companies for the first quarter of this year, whose business and financial behaviour coincided with the requiremen­ts of Islamic Sharia according to the Sharia rules approved by the Accounting and Auditing Authority for Islamic Financial Institutio­ns (AAOIFI).

The list includes A’Saffa Food, Al Anwar for Ceramic Tiles, Al Jazeira Services, Kamil Power, Al Madina Takaful , Al Maha Ceramics, Bank Nizwa, Computer Stationery Industry, Constructi­on Materials Industry, Dhofar Beverage and Food Stuff, Gulf Internatio­nal Chemicals, Gulf Mushrooms Products, Gulf Stone, Majan College, Majan Glass, Muscat Gases, Muscat Thread mills, National biscuit Industries, National Gas ,National Real Estate Developmen­t, Oman Cables Industry, Oman Cement, Oman Chromite, Omani Fisheries, Oman Flour Mills, Oman Internatio­nal Marketing, Oman Packaging, Oman Refreshmen­t, Oman Telecommun­ications, Ooredoo, Port Services Corporatio­n, Raysut Cement, Salalah Port Services, Shell Oman Marketing, Takaful Oman Insurance, United Power and al Izz Islamic Bank.

The list of sharia-compliant companies is reviewed every three months by adding any company that adheres to standards and eliminates companies that are not eligible.
