Lamborghin­i supercar, other vehicles destroyed in car workshop blaze

MUSCAT: A Lamborghin­i supercar worth OMR170,000 was burnt out after a wokshop fire in Muscat, officials have confirmed. The yellow sports car, a 2017 model, was destroyed after the fire broke out at Shanfari Auto- motive in Al Khuwair on Monday morning.

Fire doused

The Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) quickly brought the fire under control with no reports of casualties.

Sheikh Zakaria bin Said Al Shanfari, managing director, Shanfari Group of Companies, said: “One Lamborghin­i and some other vehicles caught fire.”

Officials stressed that the fire broke out at the workshop and not in the showroom.

Apart from the Lamborghin­i, several other vehicles and motorcycle­s were also stored in the workshop.

Last month, a fire in a commercial building in Al Khuwair had injured three people.

The fire left a number of neighbouri­ng shops damaged, and damaged three vehicles.
