Lulu’s ‘Together Let’s Give’ supports less fortunate, needy

-

MUSCAT: Lulu Oman organised a charity programme titled ‘Together Let’s Give’ to coincide with the holy month of Ramadan this year.

The initiative was launched in association with the Ministry of Social Development and was part of the group’s efforts to reflect the charitable spirit of Ramadan by contributing towards creating a better society. The programme, which was monitored by the Ministry of Social Development, was officially launched by Sheikh Dr Yahya bin Mohammed bin Zaher Al Hinai, acting undersecretary at the Ministry of Social Development and Ananth A. V., director – Oman & India, Lulu Group, in the presence of senior officials from both the organisations.

‘Together Let’s Give’ was initiated to support the less fortunate and needy, thus fulfilling our commitment to care for fellow humans. It was also an effort by Lulu Group to further strengthening its vision of enhancing the quality of life of people around the world. Through this initiative, customers could contribute essential provisions worth OMR20 for a Ramadan Charity Box. Lulu, on its part, also made an equal contribution towards the programme. The entire collection was distributed to the less fortunate under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Social Development.

“We’re delighted to have organ- ised this event during Ramadan. ‘Together Let’s Give’ has served as an opportunity for the public to explore new ways of doing something good during this holy month. Such campaigns bring out the real meaning of Ramadan, which is to be merciful and think about those who are less privileged. Through this initiative, we were able to successfully raising significant funds for charity while also raising awareness on the importance of helping each other. We thank the Ministry of Social Development for their guidance and support. We thank all our customers who made use of this event to do their bit for the society,” said Ananth at the event.
