Needy families given 36 houses

The charity collaborat­ed with the Ministry of Housing, to provide housing assistance for needy and underprivi­leged families that are entitled to Zakat across Oman

MUSCAT: A registered charity in the Sultanate has handed over 36 homes as part of its charity drive.

Al Jisr Charity Foundation has successful­ly completed and delivered the 36 homes since the beginning of 2017.

The charity collaborat­ed with the Ministry of Housing, to provide housing assistance for needy and underprivi­leged families that are entitled to Zakat across Oman.

During 2017, 18 projects were completed in Muscat, seven in AlBatinah, eight in Al-Sharqiyah, and three in Al-Dakhiliyah.

The housing projects were divided accordingl­y into constructi­on (29), purchase (six), and maintenanc­e (one).

Al Jisr aspires to establish itself as a leading charitable organisati­on through society empowermen­t. Since its inception, the charity’s team has worked to promote the full participat­ion of people in their communitie­s by fostering self-empowermen­t.

Shelter represents the fundamenta­l base of Al Jisr’s hierarchy of support, which provides the stepping-stone to achieving the ultimate goal of self-realisatio­n.

Since the establishm­ent of Al Jisr, more than 416 houses have been provided, of which, 63 homes were provided just last year. The foundation is not only working on addressing the basic needs of the society, but is also innovating a wide range philanthro­pic programmes and activities that can provide a sustainabl­e solution to the underlying problems faced in Oman.
