Higher education services, entreprene­urship in focus

MUSCAT: With the participat­ion of 30 institutio­ns, the 2nd edition of the Higher Education Institutio­ns Exhibition (Educ8te) will be launched today under the aegis of the Ministry of Higher Education.

The exhibition is being organised by Arabian Gate Expo.

Eng. Mohammed bin Abu Bakr Al Ghassani, Deputy Chairman of Majlis Al Shura will patronise over the opening ceremony of the exhibition at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The exhibition will last for three days from 18th -20th July. The Higher Education Institutio­ns Exhibition aims at providing the graduates of the General Education Diploma with the opportunit­y to learn more about services provided by higher education institutio­ns in the Sultanate (universiti­es, colleges and training institutes,) including the programmes, specialisa­tions and general programmes.

It gives them the opportunit­y to meet the officials of these institutio­ns to learn more about the appropriat­e opportunit­ies for them and to share knowledge, experience­s, ideas and informatio­n.

The exhibition focuses on institutio­ns providing education services, such as universiti­es and colleges Oman, as well as training programs through institutes and training services offices.

The exhibition also highlights entreprene­urship as an important goal to promote in the community through the participat­ion of competent authoritie­s.

A workshop will be held on the sidelines of the exhibition by the Small and Medium Enterprise­s Developmen­t Fund within the framework of highlighti­ng the importance of entreprene­urship and public awareness. The workshop will discuss a range of themes by introducin­g the basics of entreprene­urship, how to become leaders, activities to generate business ideas, preparing simplified business plan and how to be skilled in presentati­on, as well as starting business.
