Oman to host GCC arbitratio­n forum

SALALAH: Experts and officials will share experience­s and informatio­n in the field of judiciary and its relation with the commercial arbitratio­n at an upcoming event to be hosted by the Sultanate.

The GCC Commercial Arbitratio­n Centre, in cooperatio­n with Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), branch in the Governorat­e of Dhofar, will organise at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Salalah during 15th to 17th August 2017 the annual commercial arbitratio­n forum under the theme Judiciary and its relation with Arbitratio­n at the GCC states.

A number of arbitratio­n experts and judges from the GCC states will take part at the forum, which will be opened by Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar in the presence of Issa bin Hamad Al Azri, Undersecre­tary of the Ministry of Justice.

Opportunit­y

Abdullah bin Salim Al Rowas, Head of OCCI branch in Dhofar said that the forum provides the opportunit­y to share experience­s and informatio­n in the field of judiciary and its relation with the commercial arbitratio­n.

He added that the forum highlights the role played by judiciary in arbitratio­n in the GCC states.

The forum will discuss a range of themes including the mechanism of providing licences for the dispute settlement organisati­ons especially the arbitratio­n centres at the GCC states.
