Oman to host GCC arbitration forum
SALALAH: Experts and officials will share experiences and information in the field of judiciary and its relation with the commercial arbitration at an upcoming event to be hosted by the Sultanate.
The GCC Commercial Arbitration Centre, in cooperation with Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), branch in the Governorate of Dhofar, will organise at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Salalah during 15th to 17th August 2017 the annual commercial arbitration forum under the theme Judiciary and its relation with Arbitration at the GCC states.
A number of arbitration experts and judges from the GCC states will take part at the forum, which will be opened by Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar in the presence of Issa bin Hamad Al Azri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice.
Opportunity
Abdullah bin Salim Al Rowas, Head of OCCI branch in Dhofar said that the forum provides the opportunity to share experiences and information in the field of judiciary and its relation with the commercial arbitration.
He added that the forum highlights the role played by judiciary in arbitration in the GCC states.
The forum will discuss a range of themes including the mechanism of providing licences for the dispute settlement organisations especially the arbitration centres at the GCC states.
