Eshraqa conducts mind mapping programme for 40 Omani children
MUSCAT: Eshraqa, Khimji Ramdas Social Development Arm, conducted a mind-mapping programme for 40 Omani children, powered by Khimji Training Institute. The educational initiative forms a central component of Eshraqa’s focus on education, which constitutes one of its three key pillars, the other two being health and community well-being.
Mind mapping is a graphical way of representing ideas and concepts. It is a visual thinking tool that structures information, which helps to generate, synthesise, and analyse ideas in an easy and effective way; as with every great idea, its strength lies in its simplicity.
The mind-mapping programme was part of the second edition of IT Creativity Theatre Training Programme for children was organised by the Informational Technology Authority (ITA) at the Middle East College, Knowledge Oasis Muscat.
The Led by its commitment to support innovative ideas in the education sector, Nailesh Khimji, director – Khimji Ramdas said, “A mind-mapping course is a new approach to learning and education, it leads to more effective knowledge retention and provides children with the opportunity to express their innovative ideas in a creative way. Over the years we have supplemented and supported several similar programmes that enhance educational tools for children and we will continue to do so as part of our ongoing CSR initiatives driven towards developing educational opportunities for young Omanis.”
ITA’s one-month training programme aims to enhance children’s knowledge and encourage them to visually represent ideas and concepts with ease. It also sought to enhance knowledge in the field of information technology and encourage them to transform the knowledge they acquire during the workshops of the program to an innovative product or service under the supervision of specialists in this area.
