OHI Electronics is on a mission to inculcate safe driving habits
MUSCAT: As part of its initiative to prioritise road safety through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, OHI Electronics has embarked on a mission to inculcate safe driving behaviours.
OHI Electronics has been educating and sensitising road users on the importance of safety by regularly organising quiz on the social media. The quiz, which is being conducted on OHI Electronics Facebook Page since 2015, tests drivers’ knowledge about road safety. The road safety quiz, conducted twice a month, reaches around 40,000 people each time. The popular quiz has been receiving a huge response as it witnesses enthusiastic participants.
Understanding that road safety is the need of the hour, OHI Electronics has been organising this educative campaign to share essential knowledge with the wider society and especially the youth.
Through this quiz, OHI Elec- tronics’ aim is to contribute to safer roads. As part of the quiz, an image of a traffic sign is posted and people are asked to guess the correct answer from multiple options. A participant who has awareness about road safety is selected as a winner and is given a headphone as a reward.
The quiz contest focuses on raising public awareness on road safety besides engaging and educating road users about the need for safe riding practices.
Devan Thuppali, general manager of OHI Electronics said, “Through the road safety quiz we are making sure the user is up-todate about his knowledge about road rules. It is a quick way to find out if they are safer and smarter drivers. Road safety is a growing concern in all countries and therefore it is important to make roads safer everywhere, including Oman, for the present and future generation. Promoting road safety awareness is a significant Part of OHI Electronics’ Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. That is why we are using the popular medium of the Facebook page to spread the message of road safety among the residents of Oman.”
