The Hilux is the product of a meticulous customer feedback & terrain research by Toyota Osama Tomioka, the Hilux Assistant Chief Engineer has spoken about its painstaking development process, “Until now, a vehicle’s value was determined by how ‘tough’ it was, However, in developing Hilux, we wanted to fundamentally rethink what ‘tough’ means. We heard from people that the vehicles are the foundation of their lives, an indispensable tool, space for the family, and so on. By getting to know the roads and the people, we learned that a different kind of “tough” was needed. Under rough road conditions, of course, the vehicle should be tough. In addition to that, sometimes long hour drives with family also require tough which means keeping it comfortable and safe.”

Further highlighting what sets the Hilux apart he has said, “Seeing is believing brought us more meaning to toughness. High fuel efficiency for long fuel range, good riding comfort for long safe driving, noiseless cabin for communicating comfortably. To realise the development concept, we performed many field tests on various roads, conditions, environments of all over the world The Hilux is all about “Redefining Toughness.”

The Hilux is therefore not only a tough vehicle but also an advanced pickup with stylish cues hitherto found only on SUVs. The front of the Hilux gives a sense that the vehicle is wider than it is. The vehicle’s interior continues the concept of “Tough and Emotional”, and reflects the same attention to detail as the exterior with SUV vehicle styling, accents and ornamentations.

The key features that keep you comfortable are the Auto A/C, Steering wheel with Audio switches and Advanced con- trols, Multi-Information Display (MID), 7” Display Audio with DVD player and much more.
