Anantara Resort partners with Ministry of Education
MUSCAT: Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort has partnered with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Tourism to host five lucky winners following a competition to create posters promoting Oman as a tourist destination.
The winners were selected from a total of 120 entries from bright young tourism students and were chosen by a panel of judges for their ability to endorse Oman’s natural beauty, culture and history, as well as Oman’s intellectual property such as historical legacies and craft industries and how to preserve them in light of incoming challenges from a global market. The initiative is part of a worldwide competition organised by the World Intellectual Property Organisation in Geneva.
Darren Darwin, general manager of Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort welcomed the five winners, plus a supervisor before they enjoyed a luxurious stay at the five-star mountaintop resort. During their stay, they were able to relax in temperatures that are 15 degrees cooler than the rest of the GCC, allowing them to take part in a range of unique mountain activities and dine alfresco at the resort’s exquisite restaurants. The trip was designed to inspire the students in their efforts to promote tourism within the country and to attract attention to the vast natural beauty of Oman.
Darwin said; “We are delighted to partner with the Ministry of Ed- ucation and Ministry of Tourism to provide these talented young students with the opportunity to stay at our resort. With tourism set to become a mandatory subject within Oman’s public schools, it is incredibly important to evoke the youth’s interest in this sector. We are committed to supporting efforts to promote Oman’s beautiful attractions to the rest of the world as well as helping to foster and develop the education of these students – after all, they are the future stars of Oman.”
