ISC Salalah celebrates India’s Independence Day
MUSCAT: Indian Social Club (ISC) Salalah along with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and Indian Embassy-Muscat celebrated the 71st Independence Day of India at Indian Social Club Salalah recently.
Indra Mani Pandey, Ambassador of India to Oman presided over the function as the chief guest while Mubarak Jamil Juma Al Farsi - DG of Palace Catering, Sheikh Musallam Qatan - DG Wali Office and Advocate Muhammad Suhail Al Barami, Salem Ahmed Al Rawas attended the occasion as guest of honours.
The Dinesh Poddar Dance Group, famed Indian dance troupe, mesmerised the audience with its entrancing Kathak performance.
Countless Indians, as well as Omani nationals, enjoyed the well-knit dance show. Manpreet Singh, ISC Salalah chairman, welcomed the gathering and administered the Pledge of the Govt. of India for New India 2022. Pandey addressed the gathering and told about the importance of India’s Independence and the Govt. of India’s vision. He also conveyed to celebrate 70th Independence Day by sending more troupe performances in the days to come until August 15, 2018.
On this occasion, Al Farsi, Qatan, Al Barami and Al Rawas conveyed their best wishes to Pandey and the people of India in Oman. Hridhya S Menon, general secretary hosted the programme while Ramesh Kumar, cultural secretary proposed the vote of thanks.
