MSM index ends lower

Renaissanc­e Services, up by 8.82 per cent, was the top gainer while Vision Insurance, down by 7.28 per cent, was the top loser.

MUSCAT: Share prices reacted on the Muscat bourse. MSM30 Index ended negatively at 5,038.69 points, a loss of 0.35 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index declined 0.24 per cent to close at 735.43 points. NBO was the most active in terms of volume while Al Maha Petroleum led in terms of turnover. Renaissanc­e Services, up by 8.82 per cent, was the top gainer while Vision Insurance down by 7.28 per cent, was the top loser.

A total number of 474 trades were executed on Monday, generating turnover of OMR2.60 million with 11.61 million shares changing hands. GCC and Arab Investors remained net buyers for OMR518,000 while Omani Investors were net sellers for OMR493,000 followed by Foreign Investors for OMR25,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index closed at 7,502.99 points, down 0.15 per cent. Al Madina Takaful and Al Ahlia Insurance gained 1.92 per cent and 0.63 per cent respective­ly. Vision Insurance, Gulf Investment Services, Al Izz Bank, Al Anwar Holding and Bank Muscat declined 7.28 per cent, 3.66 per cent, 1.39 per cent, 1.24 per cent and 1.03 per cent respective­ly.

Industrial Index lost 0.17 per cent to end at 6,800.02 points. Gulf Internatio­nal Chemicals gained 4.48 per cent while Galfar Engineerin­d slid 2.60 per cent respective­ly. Services Index advanced 0.51 per cent to finish at 2,467.33 points. Renaissanc­e Services and Port Services increased 8.82 per cent and 1.70 per cent respective­ly. Al Jazeera Services, Ooredoo and Omantel declined 2.08 per cent, 1.38 per cent and 1.22 per cent.
