ICMA hosts session on CMA
MUSCAT: A free information session on the IMA’s certification - Certified Management Accountant (CMA), USA, was held on recently at the ICMA Conference Hall.
The session was hosted by the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ICMA), a leading coaching provider for international certifications in finance, accounting & audit in oman and also an approved course provider of the IMA.
The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) is a worldwide association of accountants and financial professionals in the business. CMA demonstrates a mastery of management accounting knowledge and skills. The certification is specifically designed for accountants and financial decision makers who want to obtain an advanced professional certification to measure the accounting and financial management skills that drive business performance. It assures employers of on the job competency especially for those who want a credible competent personnel, with a worldwide recognised designation that will pos- itively reflect on the company’s image and reputation.
Ahmad Mkhallati, director, Regional Partner’s Relations at the IMA, Middle East & Africa, had presented an overview of CMA to prospective candidates, specifically addressing the requisites, exam structure, administration, and guidelines on how to get started with the credential.
The Certification overview was followed by an introduction to ICMA and an insight into their offerings. ICMA has been preparing CMA candidates for Part 1 and Part 2 for over the last three years as part of its Professional Education Coaching. Professor S. Sundararajan, director of ICMA was acquainted as the CMA coach. He has delivered more than 40 executive education programmes in finance and accounting in Muscat since 2009. He was a Professor at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) for 18 years and was a member of the Governing Board and the Head of Executive Education at IIMB.
Prospective candidates were provided with many opportunities to network with faculty and alumni so that they could ask their queries and learn more about the certification. Performance incentives, as well as honours for recently qualified CMA’s, were highlights of the information session.
