Bank Sohar meet focuses on areas of developmen­t

MUSCAT: In line with its ambitious vision and comprehens­ive growth plans following 10 years of success and tremendous achievemen­ts, Bank Sohar recently conducted a workshop to discuss the roadmap and set the framework for its operations in the upcoming five years.

During the event, which took place at Crowne Plaza Muscat, the bank’s board of directors and executive management highlighte­d the current economy variables and the latest developmen­ts in the local and internatio­nal market. They also discussed different scenarios to overcome potential future challenges and put together comprehens­ive strategies to move forward and achieve the bank’s organisati­onal objectives.

Commenting on the outcome of the workshop, Abdullah Humaid Al Mamary, chairman - Bank Sohar said: “Bank Sohar has always been a leading player in the Omani private sector, driving the growth of the national economy and contributi­ng to its diversific­ation in line with the vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the directives of the Central Bank of Oman. Therefore, this workshop was conducted to set the roadmap for the next five years and to put in place the key goals for the bank in order to move forward and build on the resounding success we achieved since the commenceme­nt of our operations.”

Discussion­s also covered specific targets within each area of the business, including wholesale banking, retail banking, network expansion, digitalisa­tion of services, simplifica­tion of processes and procedures, revamping banking channels and boosting the customer experience.
