ISC junior chess tourney on Friday

MUSCAT: A junior age group chess tournament will be organised by the Indian Social Club (ISC) on Friday.

According to information received from the ISC, the Arabia Falcon Insurance Companysponsored tournament will be organised in under-11, under-14 and under-19 categories both boys and girls.

The tournament is open to the children of all nationalities.

The entries close at 8.00 p.m. on Thursday. Entries can be sent by WhatsApp (Ph: 71549460).

Open table tennis

The ISC will also organise the Villeroy & Boch +Hansgrohe Open Table Tennis Tournament at the club’s premises in Darsait from October 25.

The tournament is open to players of all nationalities, Omanis as well as expatriate residents and will include Omani singles, open men’s singles, women’s singles, veterans’ singles, junior singles for boys and girls under-13 and under-16 years of age, men’s doubles and mixed doubles.

Following the success of the tournament over the past years, Al-Amana Building Materials together with their principals, Villeroy & Boch and Hansgrohe of Germany have come forward to sponsor the tournament for the fourth time, said a press release from the organisers.
