Haya Water marks Omani Women’s Day
MUSCAT: Haya Water organised a celebration on Omani Women’s Day, which falls on October 17 each year, in the presence of the company’s women employees from various work sites.
Eng. Hussain bin Hassan AbdulHussain, CEO of Haya Water, congratulated the women staff and said: “I am pleased to congratulate you all on this occasion, which was allocated by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. This, no doubt, reflects His Majesty’s utmost care of Omani women as she has been a true partner, since the Renaissance, in building our beloved country and a key player in the development of various sectors.”
As for her role in Haya Water, the CEO added that the Omani women play a key role in the company and she is able to assume and work in various positions. “As a leadership team, we are always proud of the active roles played by Omani women in various work locations which essentially contributes to the development and growth of the company.”
He added, “We are fully aware of the importance of reinforcing women’s status and supporting her in various fields in order to be able to contribute to the development process. The number of female employees in Haya Water is about 128 who work in various fields such as administration, technical fields such as engineering and projects. Moreover, the women also assist top management in the making of strategic and important decisions, which will develop and improve the quality of work in Haya Water.”
Hanan Yousef Al Balushi, Corporate Communication manager, said that Omani women play an active role in building society and reflects the true concept of ‘comprehensive development’ without any distinc- tion between her and a man as she is the mother, the teacher, the lawyer, the doctor, the poet and the engineer. “We, as female employees in Haya Water, have witnessed the true fulfilment of the directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said when he pointed out the importance of supporting woman and providing her with all means of assistance and helping her to overcome all difficulties in order to perform her duties with all sincerity and trust.” Hanan also added that women is actively involved in supporting sustainable development through the encouragement she receives from top management for her important role.
