First government communicat­ion forum kicks off

The first day of the forum witnessed the launch of the accounts of the government services communicat­ion centre at the Secretaria­t General of the Council of Ministers

MUSCAT: Under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Taimur bin Asa’ad bin Tariq Al Said, the activities of the first government communicat­ion forum kicked off at Sultan Qaboos University Cultural Centre.

At the event ministers, undersecre­taries and employees at the government present.

The forum is organised by the Government Communicat­ion Centre at the Secretaria­t General of the Council of Ministers. the forum aimed to further cement government communicat­ion .

The first day of the forum witnessed the launch of the accounts of the government services communicat­ion centre at the Secretaria­t General of the Council of Ministers.

The accounts of the government services communicat­ion centre were launched under the name of “government communicat­ion” through Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. during the launch of the accounts a video introducin­g the vision on His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said non-communicat­ion in 1975.

His Highness Sayyid Taimur bin Asa’ad bin Tariq Al Said gave a speech in which he reaffirmed the significan­ce of the efforts which aimed to exchange of expertise among the personnel operating in the field of communicat­ion which also aimed to further enhance communicat­ion between the government institutio­ns were institutio­ns and the society.

Sheikh Al Fadhl bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Harthy, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, commented on the launch of the accounts of social communicat­ion of the Secretaria­t General of the Council of Ministers by saying “we have opened windows for e. windows for communicat­ion with the society through direct management of the government services communicat­ion centre at the Secretaria­t General of the Council of Ministers”.

He added that the opening of such communicat­ion windows has come in response to the Royal Directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

Sayyid Bader bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry said that “the Foreign Ministry is a partner to the other state apparatuse­s and the society in terms of the efforts aimed to keep abreast of the developmen­t in the field of communicat­ion”.

The forum reviewed the experiment­s of Britain and Singapore in the field of government communicat­ion.
