Home and building event showcases latest products
MUSCAT: Paving the way for three days of business networking, business to business transactions, and bargain deals, the 2017 Home and Building Show was inaugurated by Dr Rasheed bin Al Safi Al Huraibi, chairman of the Tender Board, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC). The event will showcase various products, equipment and services that are an integral part of an ideal home.
Previously known as The Home Show—the annual trade fair showcasing the modern home environment—the new version called the Home and Building Show includes an array of product and service streams associated with the building construction sector. Both home and building components perfectly complement each other, thereby promising business and retail customers alike a comprehensive and wholesome visitor experience.
The show has been organised by Omani event management firm Global Exhibitions and Conferences (GEC), with the support of the Ministry of Housing.
Co-located for the first time is a Kitchen and Bath Expo (KBEX), designed to enhance the overall appeal of the trade expo to all manner of visitors. This integration of home, building, kitchen and bath components—showcased under one roof amid the splendid settings of the Convention Centre’s Hall No. 5—adds to the overall appeal of GEC’s signature trade fair.
Exhibiting their products and services is an array of local and international firms eager for a share in Oman’s increasing expanding market for home, building, kitchen and bath equipment and systems. They include home appliances, home professional services, interior design services, lighting and electronic equipment, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) specialist services, outdoor and garden specialists, paints, hardware and tools, roofing and flooring systems, bedroom sets, carpet and rugs, ceramics and stones, steel products, facilities management services, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, waste management and recycling services, and smart home solutions.
Equally diverse is the collection of products and specialist services showcased under the banner of the KBEX event. Notable among the exhibits on display are bathroom accessories, sanitaryware, bathroom hardware, equipment and services, sauna systems, kitchen designs and products, accessories, appliances, equipment, services, hardware and commercial kitchens.
The Home and Building Show has been conceptualised to cater to businesses and industry professionals that have a stake in Oman’s rapidly expanding and diversifying real-estate development and the construction sector and its constituent sub-sectors. It is particularly targeted at real-estate developers, home builders and homeowners, interior designers, investors, architects, contractors, and landscaping professionals.
