United Media Services appoints new CEO

MUSCAT: Muscat Overseas Group, the parent company of United Media Services (UMS) has announced the appointmen­t of Atulya Sharma as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to further UMS’ journey as a growth-oriented and client-centric advertisin­g, digital, social media, public relations, publishing, distributi­on and events company in Oman and beyond.

In his capacity as the new CEO, Atulya Sharma will spearhead UMS’ operations and lead all the company’s critical business areas including strategic business planning and developmen­t, stakeholde­r management and client engagement. His primary focus will be towards driving engagement across the gamut of services provided by UMS and creating transforma­tional client experience­s.

Prior to being appointed as the CEO, Atulya Sharma was UMS’ Chief Strategy Officer and Head of the Advertisin­g and Communicat­ion division. He has been responsibl­e for driving several outstandin­g advertisin­g and marketing campaigns, as well as strategic partnershi­ps impacting critical business growth for the company.

Commenting on his new role as CEO, Sharma said: “At a time when the communicat­ion industry is at a critical juncture - with digitisati­on playing a vital role in influencin­g business dynam- ics and consumer engagement, it gives me immense pride in taking up this new responsibi­lity. I am excited, and at the same time committed to devising strategies that will lead to fulfilling the business objectives of our stakeholde­rs and create delightful experience­s for our clientele.”

He elaborated: “As a homegrown Omani media and communicat­ions multinatio­nal – UMS is continuous­ly consolidat­ing its presence in Oman and the region- spanning advertisin­g, digital, public relations, publishing, distributi­on, and events. We are the publishers of the Bloomberg Businesswe­ek Middle East in the UAE and have a well-known Market Activation agency there. That’s not all – our events division’s conference­s competency organises large-scale seminars and conference­s not just in Oman and the GCC region, but also in Africa and Europe.”
